Dear Friends,

The newsletter you are receiving today is very different from the ones you’re used to. It is much shorter, as no-one really has the time to read long messages any more. The new version will come out monthly and focus on one specific topic.

Throughout these troubled times of the Covid pandemic, we have continued to monitor our projects, some of which are in countries that have been destabilized by terrorism (Mozambique) or by a military coup (Myanmar). As difficult as it has been, we have chosen to carry out our work in the countries where it is most needed – countries that are poor and often politically unstable. With the support of our local partners and close monitoring of the situation, we will continue our projects and follow them through, as long as the local context permits it.

Today, you can watch a video about ATEC’s project in Bangladesh – in many respects, an exemplary initiative, supported by the Foundation as one of its impact investments. This project is improving women’s lives by protecting their health and saving their time, money and energy: the biodigester captures the methane produced by the fermentation of manure, to be used as gas for cooking.

After its promising launch in Cambodia, ATEC has now begun operations in Bangladesh with the aim of transforming the lives of millions of women!
